A book I read and enjoyed long ago was by Sue Bender, called Stretching Lessons. It is not a typical book, not a typical structure, more like stories told over tea. Not exactly linear, but with narrative and insight and honesty I really enjoyed.
She mentions a moment where she fully owns that she is very very good at struggling.
I remember I laughed out loud when I read it– it was so honest and surprising.
Today I will meet with someone to talk about pilates. It was one of my “one things” a few days back: One thing to help move me forward in a direction I want to explore. A lot of my self story these days is about inflexibility and inevitably (of course I am!), so it will be good to challenge those with direct action, but scary too.
Are any parts of your self story keeping you stuck rather than helping move you in the direction you want to go?
